Volume Boost - functions app limitations

Understanding the Limitations of Our Volume Discount Functions AppOur Volume Discount Functions app is designed to enhance your Shopify store by offering flexible discounting options. However, like all tools, it comes with certain limitations that are essential to understand to maximize its effectiveness.1. Limitation on Active OffersThe primary limitation of our Volume Discount Functions app is the restriction to Twenty-five active offers at a time. This constraint is not unique to our app but is a restriction imposed by Shopify itself. Therefore, even if you are using multiple discount apps concurrently, you can only have a maximum of twenty-five active discount offers on your store at any given moment.Impact: This means that store owners need to be strategic about which discount offers they activate to ensure they are making the most out of the available slots.2. Limitation on Number of Products per OfferAnother significant limitation is the number of products, variants, or collections that can be included in a single offer. Due to the complex nature of calculating discounts for a large number of combinations, our app is designed to function optimally with offers that include approximately 100 products, variants, or collections. If this number is exceeded, the app may not perform as expected, potentially leading to issues with the application of discounts.Impact: Store owners should carefully curate their discount offers, ensuring that the total number of products, variants, and collections included in any single offer does not exceed this limit to maintain smooth functionality.3. Incompatibility with Shopify Plus Checkout.liquidFor Shopify Plus merchants, it's important to note that the Volume Discount Functions app is not compatible with checkout.liquid. This is due to the advanced customization capabilities of the checkout.liquid file, which can interfere with the app’s functionality.Impact: Shopify Plus merchants utilizing checkout.liquid for custom checkout experiences will need to consider alternative discount strategies or avoid using this specific app in conjunction with their custom checkout flows.4. No messages on the Cart page like our Legacy appUnlike our legacy app, the new function app will not include cart messages and related settings. This means that features associated with managing cart notifications and configurations will be absent from the function.ConclusionWhile the Volume Discount Functions app offers robust discounting capabilities, it is crucial to operate within its limitations to ensure optimal performance. By understanding and planning around these constraints, you can effectively leverage the app to enhance your store's promotional strategies. Always remember to review the number of active offers, the volume of products in each offer, and the compatibility with your store's checkout setup to avoid any disruptions in your discounting processes.
