This is by far the coolest feature called in the Metafields Master app. It allows you to form a structure of any page and save it as a template to create future metafields for your storefront, saving tons of your time. Here’s how you use it:
- Go to the app dashboard
- Under the Templates section, click on Products and you’ll be redirected to the Product Template.
- Click on Add New
- Fill in the template details like Template Name, and Description.
- Click on Select Product (File upload button) & select the product from the list for which you’re headed to create the template.
- Hit the Save button
- On saving the template, you’ll be able to create groups & subgroups. Creating groups of metafields will allow you to logically organize your custom fields for future tweaks.
- Now, click the option Create new group
- Add the name & description of your group. Doing so will create a namespace for the group you created.
- Now, add fields to your group by clicking on the Add field button
- Name the field, select the type of value, and click on the Save button. Similarly, add the remaining fields. You can check the checkbox saying ‘Allow multiple entries’ if you want to allow adding the same type of field in the same group again.
- Now, create a sub-group by clicking on the button Create sub-group
- Hit the Save button
- Add fields in the sub-group by clicking on the button Add a field in the sub-group
- Name the field, describe the field, select the type of the field & save it.
- Now, head to the dashboard
- Under Available Resources, click on Products
- Search for the product for which you created the Metafield Template.
- Click on the ‘+’ sign when the product appears in the result.
- You’ll find the group & sub-group of metafields within.
- Simply add the values in the fields and click on the Save button. Please note that you can also add more similar types of fields here by clicking on the ‘+’ symbol & later adding & saving the fields.
- When you finish saving values to the values, you’ll be redirected to the Activity logs
- Click on Create Template Metafield, and you’ll find the metafields created using this Template feature.
