How to Integrate Google Ads with Form Builder
Go to https://ads.google.com/
Sign in to your Google Ads account
Click on the Goals icon on the left side of the page
Choose Conversions on a website as your conversion action
Click on the Add URL button and enter your website’s URL
Make sure to uncheck all other boxes and leave only Conversions on a website selected as your conversion goal
Important: Before creating conversion actions, ensure your Google Tag is properly set up to connect Google Ads with your Shopify store. To do this, install the Google & YouTube Sales Channel app from the Shopify App Store and follow the steps to link your Google Ads account.
- Choose the Submit Lead Form category to create conversion actions
Select Set up manually using code to create a new conversion action
- Click on the Conversion settings button
Select the Primary action used for bidding optimisation to make your conversion action primary
Enter a clear and descriptive name for your conversion action
In the Value field, you can select either Use different values for each conversion or Don’t use a value for this conversion action.
In the Count field, select One (recommended for leads, sign-ups, and forms).
Make sure to leave all other settings at their default values
Click Done, and then click the Save and Continue button
Finish setting up your conversions
Scroll down to the bottom of the Summary page and click Finish
- Your newly created goal should now appear on the Goals Summary page
Click the arrow icon next to the goal to expand it and view the details of your conversion action.
You have created your goal, but it is currently Inactive, so we need to enable it through the Form Builder App.
Click on your conversion goal, and the Detail page will open
Scroll to Tag setup and click on it, then select Google Tag Manager
Here you will find your Conversion ID and Conversion Label
These are crucial elements for linking your conversion action to the specific form inside the Form Builder App.
- Open your Form Builder App
Click on Forms in the left-hand menu
Click on the Edit button to edit your form
Click on the Form integration button
Click on Analytics integration
Add your Google Tag Conversion ID and Google Tag Conversion Label from Google Ads to your Form Settings
Click on the Save button to save your changes
As a best practice, fill out your form on your website 5 to 10 times. This will help trigger your conversion goal, and within a couple of hours, the status will change from inactive to active
Create your campaign and set your new conversion as the conversion goal.
